How the Egyptians built Pyramids
There are about 90 Pyramids in Egypt and they are all on the west side of the Nile river, this is because this side is where the sun sets.
The farmers built the Pyramids because their feilds would be flooded from the Nile river annual flood. The first step they would do is to level the sand out were the pyramid was going to be built , they did this because it would make the base more stable and the base would be even.
Next making stone blocks they get clay from the Nile river and shape it with a trowel so all the sides have a flat surface. The average weight of these blocks is about 2 1/2 tones and some weigh up to 15 tones.
After that they bake the blocks and they did it by putting it in the sun so the clay hardens up.
Later on they would put the blocks together to form into a square base. They put mud in between the blocks to hold them together and they drilled holes into them and put pegs aswell .They did this because just in case the dried mud didn't hold together.
Now they started building a triangluar structure leading to the top. They used hammers and mellets to chip off parts off the pyramid so that they would fit together.
This is built for the Ancient egypt tombs for the Pharaohs or the kings. They believe that it was important to protect the bodies for the after life. They have
uilt Primads up to 449 feet high. They shifted the blocks up a sprial ramp system and a straight ramp and every time the pyramad get higher the ramp becomes higher. The ramps are made out of wood or mud rubble.
Then the Pyramid is built, now they would put the tombs in.
